Overview

The Taper Building stands proudly at the centre of a bustling urban village. The luxury development of 56 one, two and three bedroom apartments and retail units reflects SE1’s unique history, character and style, while giving room to residents to make their own mark.

The project consisted of the design and build of the private apartments which ranged in size from 50m² - 95m², constructed using a reinforced concrete frame with piled foundations.

The Taper Building is aimed at the luxury market with each apartment boasting attractive outdoor space as well as a residents-only roof terrace and private podium landscaped garden, providing a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The apartment building also benefits from a resident’s gym, 24 hour on-site security and personal concierge service.

The façade has a mixture of traditional brickwork and blockwork, traditional and corium brick slips and rainscreen cladding panels. The exterior walls are constructed of a steel stud panel framing system to the apartments, with curtain wall glazing to the commercial and retail units. Internal walls to the apartments are metal stud partitions with plasterboard and skim finish.

The building, which achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, ranges in height from four storeys at its lowest level to a maximum of seven-storeys with 1,375m² of commercial and retail space provided at ground and first floor level.

Each of the carefully planned, self-contained apartments have been designed by award winning interior designers Stiff + Trevillion to make the most of natural light and space.

The specification is of the highest standard and features contemporary fitted kitchens with the latest integrated appliances and sleek white bathrooms. Hardwood flooring in the living areas, plush carpeting in the bedrooms and underfloor heating were installed throughout, with comfort cooling to the lounge and master bedrooms.
