A part of the Percy Hedley Foundation’s specialist care and educational facility, the award winning Bradbury View project included the design and build of a 2-storey, state-of-the-art education building, complete with hydrotherapy pool and residential respite facility to facilitate the learning, well-being and future life chances of children with additional needs.
The scheme caters for children from the ages of 6-18. The specialist pool, which is located in a favourable position to provide a stand-alone and highly-valued facility to the extended community, includes: sensory lighting as-well-as ancillary facilities to enable the Percy Hedley Foundation to offer hydrotherapy treatments to disabled children and adults; eliminating manual handling issues and providing independence to pool users.
Bradbury View also includes a 24 bed residential space with each bedroom equipped with an en-suite which included ceiling track hoists from an H frame, which allows transfers to be undertaken from any point in the bedroom and bathroom. Rooms were specifically-tailored to meet the needs of the individuals using the service which included specialist baths, hand basins, showering and toilet equipment.
Bradley View is a fine example of Tolent’s ability to deliver an award-winning, state-of-the-art, specialist care & educational facility in a live and sensitive environment; whilst ensuring a seamless delivery that did not impact on the foundation’s service delivery.
