Jones Court is a state-of-the-art extra care facility providing residential and nursing care to adults suffering from brain injuries, neurological conditions, mental health needs and to those with complex learning and physical disabilities.
The facility had an overarching aim to support and develop their daily living skills and maximise their potential to achieve their goals, and wherever possible, return to community living. Arranged around a two-storey central courtyard, the facility provides 46 units comprised of 20 en-suite bedrooms, 19 two-bedroom apartments and 7 bungalows all of traditional construction.
Facilities within the home include a hydrotherapy pool, creative suite with interactive whiteboards, training kitchens, sensory rooms, café bars, sensory garden and a winter garden, enabling residents to participate in the transitional pathway, where they are supported to develop their daily living skills and become more independent.
The site was surrounded on four sides by residential dwellings and access to the site was from a quiet residential street. Our site management staff engaged the local community through regular letter drops, one-to-one meetings and innovative use of social media to ensure local stakeholders were fully engaged throughout the build process. The site was registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme achieving ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’ with an ‘Excellent’ score in the community category.
Feedback was encouraged, with the site receiving 5 compliments and no complaints from local neighbours throughout the scheme. During construction almost all on-site operatives resided within 15 miles of the site, increasing local spend, whilst reducing the carbon footprint of the build through reduced travel.
During National Recycling Week members of the site team worked with the local community to manufacture garden furniture from recycled pallets and site timber. A sensory garden was provided by Tolent as a goodwill gesture to complete the scheme.

"Tolent was chosen as our preferred construction partner because of their extensive expertise in this field & excellent reputation for delivering project on time, to a high quality and on budget."
