Overview

The regeneration of Castletown took place over three distinct phases and involved the construction of 116 houses and 43 bungalows partially delivered under the HCA's kickstart initiative.

All houses were fully compliant with all HCA design and quality standards including Life Time Homes, Secure by Design, Building for Life and DDA. In addition, all homes were designed to achieve, as a minimum, Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, but which could altered to achieve higher levels of the Code with relative ease.

The works also involved the development of estate infrastructure including hard and soft landscaping and the installation of statutory services throughout the site and into adjoining services on the public highway.

Unique Experience

At the time of delivery, Tolent Living was a member of the Gentoo Group. During delivery the group assumed the role of the client, architect, developer and contractor with responsibility for taking all projects through the entire planning process.

The experience has given us a unique insight and awareness of the challenges and key drivers of our client base, which has allowed us to adapt our services to meet their needs. From the experience we are better able to see things from a client’s perspective and utilise our knowledge and experience to develop strategies that ensure successful outcomes.

All 153 units were fully compliant with all HCA design and quality standards including Life Time Homes, Secure by Design, Building for Life and DDA.

In addition, all homes were designed to achieve Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes as a minimum, and could be altered to achieve higher levels of the Code with relative ease.
