Overview

Camberwell on the Green is a high-end mixed use commercial and residential development on a brownfield site adjacent to Camberwell Green, South East London.

The 6-storey development offers a diverse mix of 101 studio, one, two and three-bedroom sustainable apartments built across three apartment buildings.

The modern apartments are generously equipped, meeting the demands of an active inner city lifestyle and designed with style and functionality in mind. The building was constructed with reinforced concrete frame with in situ concrete floor slabs which sits on a combination of deep raft and pad foundations.

The exterior walls were constructed of a steel stud panel framing system, with a combination of traditional facing brick, metal rainscreen cladding, architectural wall panels as well as curtain walling to ground floor commercial units. The internal walls were constructed of metal stud partitions with plasterboard and skim finish.

The ground floor 8 commercial units were constructed to provide 14,338 sq ft of BREEAM ‘Excellent’ retail and office accommodation as well as two undercroft car parks which provide off-street parking in addition to more than 182 secure cycle storage spaces.

The apartments units are designed to connect indoor and outdoor spaces with more than 50% of the apartments provided with dual aspects. A combination of Juliet and cantilever balconies boast direct views of the adjacent village green, or internal communal gardens, with an enclosed first floor podium garden and fifth floor roof terrace provided for residents.

A unique layout to the building’s two-bedroom apartments allows for a second entrance hallway door, creating a private annexe with its own terrace. The apartments achieved the Lifetime Homes Standard and are compliant to the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide and were provided with a 10-year NHBC warranty.
