National contractor Tolent has started on site in Newark to create a new builders’ merchants warehouse and showroom.

The £1.5m contract will see the clearance of the existing site, construction of a steel frame building, external works, utilities connections and fit-out works including racking, IT and counter installations.

Located on the Brunel Park Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Newark, the vacant two acre site is expected to be developed and works completed by March 2021.

John Currie, regional director for Tolent, said: “This was a really positive win for us, and one that recognises our experienced teams and brilliant reputation within the industrial and commercial sectors.

“Work started on site last month to transform this site into a high quality build for our client Taylor Lindsey Ltd and it will be a fantastic addition to our ever-growing portfolio.”

Taylor Lindsey is a Lincoln based housebuilder, commercial developer and property investment company’.

Dan Race, development director with landowner and developer Taylor Lindsey said ‘We are pleased to be working with Tolent on our latest development at Newark and we’re confident that their professional approach to the job will produce a high quality finished product for our tenant to move into in the spring.’

Tolent recently handed over the Sir Robert Hadfield Building at Sheffield Northern General Hospital that houses its essential Intensive Care Unit. The project involved a full facade strip and replacement and thanks to an outstanding performance is now on site in Nottingham to reclad six student accommodation blocks, valued at £6m.
