Overview

Pinnacle Leeds boasts a commanding presence in the heart of Leeds city centre, positioned at the gateway between the city’s business and retail districts on Albion Street and Bond Street.

The prominent mixed-use building attracts an average footfall of 170,000 per week, boasting over 83,000 sq ft of retail space fronting one of the busiest pedestrian routes in the city centre.

Tolent converted the former Next retail space from a large department store into 5 retail units across 3 floors to accommodate modern eateries. The site was surrounded by retail and commercial businesses with a multi-storey car park above. This was a multi-faceted challenge and required multiple considerations, with ensuring everyone’s safety being our first and foremost priority.

The removal of concrete arisings and waste materials and the delivery of concrete was particularly challenging at basement level. Access to the basement was gained through the underground car park from street level, which could only be accessed between 6am - 8am during weekdays or on Sundays in order to avoid pedestrians as much as possible.

The project at Pinnacle Leeds demonstrates Tolent’s ability to carry out complex refurbishment works to convert a former department store into modern eateries to a busy city centre retail and business district; whilst working considerately with neighbouring businesses.
