The existent 570 sq ft changing facilities for day guests was also fully refurbished as part of the project. The former 10m swimming pool was remodelled to form a 1000 sq ft luxury apartment named the Cashmere Suite, Stobo Castle’s most exclusive suite.
Phase 3 saw the creation of the luxury 12 bedroom Castle Lodge, which was an existing building set away from the main castle building, converted from the former staff residential quarters.
The elevation treatments included the replacement of all windows to enlarged openings and the installation of Juliet balconies, with new sections of cedar boarding installed between windows vertically and the existing render was redecorated. The existing roof was repaired and re-insulated and all rainwater goods were replaced. Internally, the bedrooms and bathrooms were fitted with high-quality fitted furniture and sanitary ware and each bedroom was decorated to a luxury and individual design.
