Tolent has engaged with several clients to design and construct Holiday Inn Express hotels from mandated design specifications, including projects in Newcastle (£4.8m), Doncaster (3.4m) and most recently Lincoln (£6m).
We were able to realise high-quality hotels inline with the Holiday Inn Express brand design guide, while incorporating low maintenance bathroom pods and robust FF&E to reduce the need for costly refurbishments.
The project in Doncaster consisted of the construction of a new build 94nr bedroom hotel of pre-cast concrete frame structure. A considerable amount of liaison took place with the client at the early stages of the project in order to finalise the finishes in the building ahead of the programme. The good working relationship we built with the client allowed the interfaces between all elements to be fully coordinated well in advance of construction. The subsequent benefits of this included cost savings as well as programme certainty.
Our most recent Holiday Inn Express project in Lincoln comprised the design and construction of a 118nr bedroom new build city centre hotel. During the project, the design of the bedrooms was changed to meet the new Holiday Inn Express Next Generation IHG specifications. This resulted in multiple amendments, including the integration of the finishes and a smart redesign to the bedroom rooms to make better use of the space.
