Tolent has established a good working relationship with Apex Hotels, which spans over 10 years. In that time we have successfully delivered eight projects with a commitment to achieving Apex Hotels brand standards, realising their design ambitions.
The total construction value for the hotel works carried out by Tolent is in excess of £60m, having delivered over 250 en suite bedrooms for Apex Hotels since 2009. Each project was completed on time, within budget and to the elevated standard of the contemporary hotel chain.
Tolent has the advantage of our breadth of experience with Apex Hotels. Our projects have ranged from complex conversions of Grade I Listed buildings, including major extension, demolition and refurbishment works, to the construction of award winning new build 4 and 5 star hotels, with restaurants, bars, gym facilities and destination spas.
Our first project with Apex Hotels comprised the conversion of an existing 1960s office building in London Wall into a 89nr bedroom 5 star hotel, complete with restaurant, bar and gym facilities. The works included demolition, major extensions, the re-cladding of the buildings envelope, interior design as well as hotel fit-out and furniture design.
The successful completion of the project at London Wall led to further works being negotiated, including the 186nr bed Apex Temple Court Hotel (£14.9m). The project comprised the conversion of an existing 1950s office building. Our scope of works included demolition, major extensions, building fabric remodelling, interior design, as well as the full fit-out and furniture design.
The project also involved the complex retention and refurbishment of the Grade l Listed building for office use, with the building remaining occupied throughout our works. The building falls within the Inner Temple Conservation area and detailed discussions were held with the planning and conservation departments to achieve this.
Most recently, Tolent completed a new build 177nr bedroom hotel in the centre of Bath on a brownfield site, with the hotel encompassing the entire footprint of the site. This was a challenging project for the site team, as the site was located within an extremely active construction zone, with four other major projects within 250 metres of the site boundaries.
