Project Details
Design, erection and completion of a Hydrotherapy Pool and 24 Bed residential building together with associated external works and drainage.
The ability to meet the programme timescales and deadlines was crucial to ensuring the Foundations’ service delivery and operational transition arrangements remained seamless. The importance placed on a seamless transition was heightened due to the complex needs and disabilities of the pupils, the need of families, many of the pupils geographical locations beyond the North East and the lack of suitable, alternative provision.
The construction site was located within an existing school premises and adjoining the existing
buildings. All parties working on the site were required to have DBS clearance.
The provision of the Hydrotherapy pool was one of the key elements of the project, a partnering agreement was reached at tender stage with pool specialists Whitewater who became part of the delivery team for the project.
