Refurbishment and over cladding of existing multi storey car park.
The works consist of the alteration, repair and refurbishment of the existing 5 storey (ground level plus 4 upper floors) Multi storey car park situated on Talbot road in the centre of Blackpool. This work being part of the larger regeneration project in Blackpool, known as the Talbot Gateway scheme.
The car park was refurbished to current secure car park standards providing 658 Car parking spaces. With the ground floor being converted into 5 retail units (2329sqm total) with integral service yard.
The existing 1930's structure was stripped back to the basic concrete frame with extensive structural concrete repairs to the frame, replacement of all electrical and mechanical services, and the formation of new lift and stair cores.
Externally the building is re clad predominantly with back lit profiled cast glass.
