Project Details
The new centre provided Gentoo with a three storey building, with the ground floor housing the public aspects of the organisation i.e. the reception, cash counter, interview rooms etc.
The other floors hold a boardroom, training rooms and staff rest areas are located within the basement and can be opened out to create one large area when required.
The existing site had an extreme fall of 4 metres with mixed uses consisting of two terraced houses, a builder’s yard and waste ground.
The design philosophy for the building was to have a clean, crisp, modern looking building with a simple palette of materials. Such a palette projects an image that Gentoo is a modern, forward looking, dynamic organisation.
