Janet received her trophy from Angela Rippon on 10th May at the ceremony in Whitehall, also attended by Minister of State for Work and Pensions, James Purnell M.P
The Age Positive Campaign promotes the benefits of employing a mixed-age workforce that includes older and younger people and Janet, who was nominated by a colleague for defying age stereotypes, was amazed when she got the call to say that she had been chosen as a winner.
Janet, age 62, was nominated for her youthful outlook, her refusal to retire and �get old� and her lust for life, backed up with examples of her yearly �girls� holidays, her 3 times a week gym membership and her ability to give the site lads a run for their money! She has worked in construction for 16 years and is a very strong, determined lady who has proved herself to be an inspiration to younger female members of the company.
